About the Artist
I started Ruff Renditions to provide a service for people who love their pets. With every painting I attempt to capture the character of your pet. Those qualities that make them the individuals they are.
You could say my painting style is quite loose, I certainly don't render every hair, yet I do understand that the secret to a good painting is for it to have a presence of its own. Fresh colour, contrast, depth and brushwork make for a lively painting - after all our pets are living beings.
In my teens I found myself combining my passion for animals and art and before long was being commissioned by family and friends to paint or draw their favourite pets.
A bit of time has passed since then and I have undertaken numerous short courses and gained my degree in Fine Art from the National Art School, Sydney.
I still practice as a fine artist exhibiting in group shows, I also have work held by the Sydney Harbour Trust and the Library and Archives of the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
Currently I live north of Sydney with my faithful friend Molly, the German Shepherd. Sadly Tickles, my best buddy and muse has moved on, but this site remains dedicated to her.
