I started Ruff Renditions to provide a service for
people who love their pets. With every painting I attempt to capture
the character of your pet. Things like body language, facial expressions
and of course those eyes, all go into making your faithful friends
the individuals they are.
You could say my painting style is quite loose, I certainly don't render every
hair, yet I do understand that the secret to a good painting is for it to have
a presence of its own. Fresh colour, contrast, depth and brushwork make for
a lively painting - after all our pets are living beings.
I grew up around animals and have an inbuilt love
of anything furry or four-legged. I found myself combining my passion
for animals and art and before long was being commissioned by family
and friends to paint or draw their favourite pets.
A bit of time has passed since then and I have undertaken numerous short courses
and gained my degree in Fine Art from the National Art School, Sydney.
I keep my hand in, participating in some group shows
and have work held by the Sydney Harbour Trust and the Library and
Archives of the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
Currently I live north of Sydney with 7 year old German Shepherd, Tickles,
and budgie Pk. I am also a member of the RSPCA.
